Adjusting to Motherhood - The First Quarter

All I can say with Naomi is we got the BEST baby ever. (and for our first baby WOW!) The whole last month of me being pregnant everyone said to us " Get rest because you're going to need it."

But, I can honestly say the only time we felt tired was when we were in the hospital. Since night one she has been AMAZING! She's has two bad nights in her first three months and I couldn't have asked for anything else. People often say

"wait to have a baby"

"you're life is over once you have children"

"parenthood is quite an adjustment"

I would definitely have to disagree. My life feels more valuable with her in it. I feel like I have a real purpose. It's the best most rewarding thing that has ever happened to me. I just love her and want to give her more the world.

Month One

Since the moment she came she had her eyes wide open and been so curious, following objects, and faces and gripping my fingers. Her smile, although it didn't come til a couple weeks later, it's so contagious and worth the wait. She would wake up maybe once or twice at night. Towards the later half of her first month she started to show that she is an advanced little thing and started to fully hold her head up, push off, and make baby talk. (after the baby talk I couldn't hold tears back anymore)

Month Two

In this month she really perfected all the things she learned to do in her first month. She also started to throw some giggles and baby words with this infectious smile. She started to reach for and grab objects and people. She started sleeping all through the night. (yes I know I'm so lucky!) She responds to loud noises specifically daddy's sneezes! (which never fail to wake her up even now) She also started to stand up and jump with support. YES PEOPLE AT TWO MONTHS. Naomi you amaze me!

Month Three

Naomi grabs EVERYTHING! Hair, phones, all her toys, pens when mommy is writing, wires when we're plugging in our phones. She really is starting to grow up and show out. This month I am like WOW WHAT CAN'T YOU DO?! She rolls over sometimes, she can sit up by herself for a while (then she leans forward and gets stuck and upset). She loves to sit in her bumbo. Now that Naomi can recognize who people are she is VERY picky about who holds her. She loves very few people besides mommy and daddy mainly mommy ;) (even though she says dada now) but, I don't mind that one bit.

Here's to the first quarter of Naomi's life. Whoohoo!
